Abigail Ghelli

Abigail has had a passion for animals since she was a young girl. She began riding horses at the age of 5, and went on to compete in local hunter/jumper shows throughout high school. Eventually her love for animals spread through the family, and at age 10 she moved from the suburbs to a small farm in Gilbert where they rescue all animals great and small. At a young age she knew her passion for animals was special, and has wanted to be a veterinarian ever since. She began shadowing veterinarians in middle school and continued into her high school career. Abigail went to high school in Gilbert, where she was on the cheer and dance team. Her senior year she studied veterinary assistance at the East Valley Institute of Technology. After graduating in 2014, she went on to ASU to pursue her undergraduate degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. During the summer after her freshman year she had the opportunity to study wildlife in South Africa, where she worked with a wildlife veterinarian. This sparked a greater interest in large animal and rural medicine, as well as wildlife. Abigail is entering her fourth year at ASU and will be applying to veterinary schools this fall!
